CCND1 (Cyclin D1) Overexpression Drives G1 Phase Progression and Tumor Growth
Review Article
Abstract
Pediatric gastrointestinal tumors (PGITs) exhibit dysregulated early G1-phase cell cycle progression, but CCND1’s role remains unclear. This study explored CCND1 (Cyclin D1) function in PGITs via in vitro assays. CCND1 was overexpressed in PGIT cell lines (HT-29, WiDr, Caco-2) vs. normal HIEC-6. CCND1 silencing blocked G1/S transition, inhibited proliferation, reduced CDK4/6-p-Rb activation, and enhanced 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) chemo-sensitivity, identifying CCND1 as a potential PGIT therapeutic target.
