BRCA1/2 Deficiency Promotes Genomic Instability and Tumor Progression
Review Article
Abstract
Pediatric gastrointestinal tumors (PGITs) exhibit high genomic instability, but BRCA1/2’s role remains unclarified. This study explored BRCA1/2 function in PGITs via in vitro assays. BRCA1/2 were downregulated in PGIT cell lines (HT-29, WiDr, Caco-2) vs. normal HIEC-6. BRCA1/2 overexpression reduced genomic instability, inhibited proliferation, and enhanced PARP inhibitor sensitivity, identifying BRCA1/2 as potential PGIT therapeutic targets.
