The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) [2] defines ADHD as a neurodevelopmental disorder that involves inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. People with ADHD struggle to focus their attention on one thing, their minds and/or bodies are always active, and they feel strong urges to do something right now. Research studies show numerous differences between those with and without ADHD [3]. Particularly, brain scan studies show reduced volume in the inferior frontal gyrus and reduced gray matter in the parietal, temporal, and occipital cortices [4].
