Cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta) were gotten from farms in Amassoma, Bayelsa State. The leaves were washed, air-dried for 4 days, and later oven-dried at 50°C; they were then ground to powder. 250 g of the powdered Manihot esculenta was weighed and soaked in 1000 mL of n-hexane for 72 hours, filtered, and left to evaporate in a water bath to obtain the oil. The GC-MS was used to identify the components in the oil after extraction. Cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta) were gotten from farms in Amassoma, Bayelsa State. The GC-MS was used to identify the components in the oil after extraction. The results revealed some various fatty acids present in the oil, which include n-hexadecanoic acid (12.491%), 9-octadecanoic acid (7.400%), 9,12-octadecadienoic acid (2.265%), 9,12,15-octadecatrienoic acid (6.564%), and other components, which include phytol (2.140%), squalene (12.867%), heptadecane (2.191%), tetracosane (0.995%), vitamin E (2.362%), oxirane, hexadecyl (0.791%), caparratriene (0.737%), lanosterol (11.272%), β-amyrone (9.169%), β-amyrin (6.719%), lup-20(29)-en-3-one (20.628%), camphorene (0.669%), and 6-octen-1-ol, 3,7-dimethyl-acetate (0.743%). The components found have been shown to be quite useful in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and other sectors. This work points out the value of cassava leaves as a rich source of bioactive compounds with a variety of uses in numerous industrial sectors, while also stressing the significance of the sustainable exploitation of agricultural waste.
